Paper Marbling for Beginners and Experienced
Acrylic Marbling and Japanese Suminagashi
Saturday, December 10, 2016 (10 AM-4 PM)

Participants in this 1-day workshop will learn two methods of paper marbling, one with acrylic and watercolor pigment manipulated on a thick size, the other a Japanese technique of floating inks on water. Both yield a multitude of undulating patterns and decoration, often seen in historic endpapers. Students will learn the basics of materials and techniques, so that they can recreate the set-up at home, and spend the majority of the day making their own marbled papers. Paper preparation and finishing will also be covered. All materials provided.
