VABC’S MONTHLY SATURDAY BOOK-ARTS WORKSHOPS

The focus is on book structures, skills, and tools.
The schedule and/or details of workshops may change:  check back for changes.

The VABC is a community of artists exploring books, paper, and printmaking.  The bookmaking group welcomes everyone who is interested in bookbinding and making books.

* a hands-on introduction to signatures and punching sewing holes may be offered for novices in the hour before the workshop begins.

Advanced workshops and certificate courses.  The VABC offers certificate courses on bookbinding and specialty workshops on a wide range of advanced skills. See the VABC website for information about them.

Informal sessions:Bookmakers often meet informally during VABC Open Hours (when the shop is open to the public) on some Saturday afternoons and Wednesday early evenings. Check the VABC website about upcoming sessions or contact Addeane Caelleigh at  asc8f@virginia.edu.

VABC annual project:
The VABC annual project always has a bookbinding component. The 2013 project is about making miniature books. See the website for photographs of previous projects and guidelines for the 2013 project.
