Hey, what’s yer ‘face?

We had a little surprise when we had a Rare Book School class printing a specimen marked Nicholas Cochin Bold as they joined the Speaking in Faces project…we quickly determined it was not Cochin at all. Great to have so many pros in one room!

But what is it? Check out those 3s and 5s…cool tails. Caligraphic serifs. Help us out!

Fernando Díaz provided the clue:

“According to my old type specimen books, its Greco Bold.
A Spanish typeface from 1920s by Fundición Tipográfica Richard Gans

Hope it helps,
Many hugs from Montevideo”
We see it often listed now as Greko Bold. Awesome find!  — VABC
