May 2016: Friends, VABC Needs You!

Marbling-2-e1421786394369Friends, as we swing into spring, VABC is seeding the fields with activities. We’re launching three projects that will bear beautiful fruit this summer and fall: Tree of Life, Handmade Harvest, and Speaking in Faces. However, we need your help to ensure that these projects—as well as our ongoing series of classes and exhibitions—come to fruition.

With that in mind, we’re declaring May as Friends Month and we invite you to support our work by becoming a Friend of VABC. Your donations will help us close out the fiscal year on a high note and ensure the success of projects on the horizon.

As a Friend of VABC, you’ll also support our efforts to refine our Printing and Book Binding educational tracks. We hope you might enjoy core skill classes as well as advanced offerings like paper making, paper marbling, the Second Saturday workshops (Coptic is coming!), and a special focus on the carousel book this July.

Beyond that, you’ve probably joined us (or wished you had!) for the occasional special exhibitions of artist’s books and art, as we saw from Lotta Helleberg, Elizabeth Peak, Elizabeth Schoyer, and Lyall Harris this year. Maybe you needed a unique gift, print, or card and dashed to Art on Ivy knowing something smart and local would be there. We want to keep this energy and momentum high–there’s more great work out there to feature and invaluable VABC equipment resources to protect–can you help us do that?

If you would like to support the organization that’s bringing all this together and keeps you informed, become a Friend of VABC by choosing the VABC box at THIS LINK. (When you see the Special Instructions box appear, use the passcode FRIEND to receive benefits.) Your tax-deductible donation will be recognized by Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, and we love to offer you some benefits for donations at these levels:
