  • Hi–I have a question about the 6-week “Certification iBook Conservation” class. What does the certification enable one to do with this basic training? Is this meant to be a foundational course for those who are interested in doing something with the basic skills? I’d love to hear more; thanks so much. –Dorrit Green

  • “VABC: Certification Courses offer the participant the opportunity to demonstrate their newly acquired craft and technical skills under supervision of a member with significant experience in the area.

(Depending on the course, demonstration of skills might be in the form of testing or completion of a project)

VABC members are allowed unsupervised access to the shop and any and all tools and equipment that they have demonstrated a certain level of proficiency. Successful testing allows access at VABC.
